Capitolism Good - Little Einstiens Bad

Steve: GAGH
I never wanna work with Disney!!
Becky: why?
Steve: I tried to sign up for their internship program and their form didn't work!
Becky: lol
Steve: ::kicks Micky::
they really do have a pretty crappy site overall
Becky: don't blame Micky for a crappy web guy
oh, yes, they do!
it's all flash!!
Steve: :-p
Becky: yay, the Little Einsteins!!!
that girl in purple is too cute
as in, . . . too much
as in, it's just not right
Steve: oh holy crap . . . this is the most annoying site I've seen in a while
Becky: lol
Steve: do you have your sound turned up?
Becky: yes
now I do
now that I'm watching the little einsteins
Steve: . . . you, my friend, are hopeless

this is so fun!
I love the Little EinsteinsQ
!!
Steve: :-P
you're such a dork!
read about web development! Don't watch poorly-drawn children as they try to entertain an audience of 1-5 year-olds
Becky: lol
but I'm learning!
Steve: if you're learning from a pre-school game then you need serious help
Becky: lol
hey, there are some songs I didn't previously know
for instance, Peer Gynt by Grieg
Steve: :-P

Becky: what are you pointing out with this?
Steve: do you notice how bias the guy who hates Flash is as opposed to how open the guy who likes it is?
Becky: oh please
Steve: how informed the pro is as opposed to how emotional the con is
Becky: you're a Christian and you say this
Steve: what the crap?? What does Christianity have to do with it?
Becky: what are most Christian/non-Christian arguments like? You have the emotional, illogical Christian against the informed, logical, non-believer
(not all)
(but most)
yet we are still Christian
s
Steve: So what??
Becky: you can't be for or against something because one side is emotional and illogical
I don't agree with that guy's biasness, but I still don't like Flash
Steve: I'm much more persuaded by someone who's logical about it as opposed to someone whose sole defense is preference
Becky: and that is why a lot of people don't want to be Christians, because a lot of Christians base their beliefs on traditions or what they grew up with
Steve: We're not talking about Christianity!! :-P!
Becky: I'm making a parallel! anyway, don't decide something based on an arguement like that. Find an argument where both sides are equally logical
and THEN decie
decide*
Steve: I've heard your logical side
Becky: not MINE
Steve: and I've read this guy's logical side
Becky: someone else's
Steve: why? are you not good enough?
Becky: please, like that compares
noe
nope*
Steve: :-p
then by your own admission I shouldn't believe you
Becky: I'm so glad you're a Christian
I'd never win you over
Steve: What the crap??
Becky: lol
Steve: why do you keep bringing this back to Christianity??
C.S. Lewis could win me over
Becky: because it's so alikeQ
Q
!
exactly
Steve: give me Mere Christianity and I'll convert
Becky: C.S. Lewis can
there is probably a Flash hater that can, too
but not me
Steve: look, the difference here is that with Flash there can be a middle ground. You can have a preference for Flash, and you can have a wonderful Flash interface that's interactive, clean, searchable and sticky. With Christianity you're either saved or you're not. There's no middle ground there.
Becky: lol
true
well I am kinda on the middle ground with flash
Steve: :-p not the way you talk to me about it
Becky: lol
I'm leaning toward NO
Steve: as far as Flash interfaces go, it's all about how well the developer develops it. You can't just dismiss a Flash interface for the mere fact that it's Flash.
Becky: I know
Steve: and it especially annoys me that this guy makes an argument against Flashed based on Macromedia's profit-making! :-P! We live in a capitolistic government, kid! Not socialist! Deal with it!
Becky: haha

Steve: see, that's what all these people who hate Wal-Mart and Windows and AOL are all up in arms about. They're jealous that these companies are making money - Well good for them! They figured out the game!
Becky: heh
aol sucks
Steve: well, yeah
Becky: not because they make money
but because they suck
and windows sucks compared to linux
the only reason to like windows is cause most companies write software for it
Steve: they basically figured out the game by being one of the first at a now-popular, then-rare format
Becky: and it's easier to use because people are used to it and might have grown up with it
yep
Steve: Windows does not suck compared to Linux
c'mon now
you've got to realize that Linux is for people who know what they're doing while Windows is for the rest of the world
Becky: what did I just tell you?
Steve: that doesn't make either of them better or worse, it gives them equal footing
Becky: you don't have to know what you're doing with Linux anymore than with Windows
Linux can be just as user friendl
y
people just aren't USED to it
Steve: it can be, but it takes someone who knows what they're doing to make it that way
Becky: no it doesn
't
not everyone knows how to use Windows either
like my mom . . .
Steve: and even if it is exactly as user friendly as Windows, it's still late
Becky: still, take someone who's never been on a computer before, and Linux and Windows are probably just as hard for them to use
Steve: if Linux wants to get onto every computer in the world the've got to start advertising
Becky: the probably with Linux is that it's non-profit
problem*
Steve: lol - problem?
lol
Becky: lol
Steve: yes, that is the problem - because the people who run Linux are the same people who hate Wal-Mart
Becky: lol
Wal-Mart sucks!!!
their clothes anyway
haha
Steve: oh please
if Wal-Mart sucks then Meijer sucks
Becky: their clothes anyway
they both do
Steve: lol
Becky: clothes-wise
so does Old Navy
Steve: anyway . . .
Becky: their jeans anyway
Steve: Shh!!
Becky: lol
Steve: Linux needs a new image and a new mind-set
if they want to be more popular
their image right now is that they're for developers
programmers
Becky: but the head honcho doesn't want a lot
he's only rich cause people give him money
Steve: well, good for the head honcho
Becky: lol
Steve: but what about all those Linux lovers who want the world to be Unix-based?
Becky: who markets Linux anyway?
Steve: no one!
Becky: lol
Steve: that's the point!
Becky: because it's open source!
it's doesn't really have anyone
the closet it gets to marketing is whatever Red Hat does
Steve: good for them - open source is wonderful - it's great - but it doesn't make everyone love it
Becky: and you have to flippin pay for Red Hat now :-P
Steve: it just makes programmers love it
Good for Red Hat!
Becky: hmmph
$179!!!
Steve: look, what Linux needs is to cut a deal with some computer manufacturer to put their OS on every computer they make. This deal will not happen unil Linux has the money to convince the manufacturer of this. They will not get money until they start selling OS's
Becky: meh
Steve: it's only when their OS is standard on some kind of machine that they will start to gain respect
Becky: yeah
Steve: Look at Windows - standard on most computers. Look at Mac - they make their own flippin computers!
Becky: lol
Steve: but no manufacturer will take Linux because they're not popular enough and their computer sales will likely go down. The only way Linux will convince someone to make their OS standard is with cash-money
Becky: cash-money is so redundant!!
Steve: lol
it's also gansta
Becky: it's like film-video
lol
Steve: NO!!
IT'S NOT LIKE FILM-VIDEO!
Becky: wow
ok it's not
Steve: Film is not video!
Becky: i know!!
sorry!!
Steve: ::kick::
Becky: gosh
have you ever played Apples to Apples?
Steve: no
looked stupid
Becky: it's fun
you have!!
wait you didn't play
I played at your grandma's house
Steve: I'm not a fan of non-geek games
Becky: anyway, one of the words was "boring"
and one of the cards someone put in was "Beethoven"
and I was LIVID
Steve: oooohhhh
them's fighin' notes
Becky: yeah!!
I'll play the Fifth Symphony for you add full volume and see if you think it's boring!!
Steve: Oo! You wouldn't be able to sit around playing Apples to Apples - you'd have to get up and play basketball
no - football
the Fifth Symphony is more a football song
Becky: lol
Steve: there are many impacts
Sent at 5:31 PM on Saturday
Steve: so what have we learned today?
Becky: about Bach and Greig and Brahms in the Little Einsteins Flash games! yay!!
Steve: oh gosh
Becky: lol
Steve: here I am talking about the capitolistic nature of American business and you're learning about songs in a preschool game
