High Five!!

Well, this is interesting . . .

No, this isn't another Borat post.

HighFivez.com is a new site built upon the Digg principle that the more people vote something the better it must ultimately be. (Wait, is that a Digg principle or an America principle?) Anyway, the catch is that this particular site focuses on blogs and blog posts.

So, what are the benefits to using this site? Well, the best part of it, they don't seem to really emphasize. They advertise such things as being able to store all your favorite blogs in one central location, being able to submit blogs and posts for peer review and the fact that the voting is done by real people and not robots or algorithms. But I think the real winner here is something that the blogosphere has been missing since that name was coined: the ability to easily discover new and interesting blogs. If you like to keep up on the news, but would rather get it from a more personable source than, say CNN or ABC, this is the perfect place to get it.

Not to mention if you own a blog this is the perfect place to gain exposure. Although it's just a tiny site right now, it has the potential to eventually reach an extremely large audience of people looking for just the sorts of things you write.

So go ahead and give it a try. And while you're at it, gimme a high five!
