2015 is Almost Here and These Guys Think They're Cool

I almost didn't post this link. Then I realized its excellent comedic value. MR2 Hover Industries evidently started several years ago with the promise of hoverboards delivered straight to your home. They got their website up in 2002 and, according to their FAQ, planned to get web orders up in 2003. But the website looks like it was made in 1995! They have all the hoverboards from Back to the Future and claim that the technology behind these hoverboards is easy enough that it should have been implemented years ago.

So why haven't they become so popular? Is it the crappy URL and site design? Is it the fact that you have to call them to request a catalog? Maybe it's the hefty price. In order to buy the hoverboard used by our hero, Marty McFly, which is called "The Mattel," (and which also actually had handles until Marty ripped them off) you'll have to fork over $1,299.95! Now, I might be willing to pay that much for a really nice laptop, but the thrill of hovering is going to have to wait.

Needless to say, there's no way this is a legitimate site. But the question still remains: Where is my hoverboard?!
