Premise
Archer misses out on T'Pol going through induced pon farr because he's captured by a bounty hunter.

Review
This episode has two completely unrelated and non-converging plot lines running through the story. The only thing that makes one plot the A plot is the fact that it's part of an arc: Archer's trial by the Klingons. That's what gives the episode its title, but if you ask me, the "B plot" is much more interesting.

Written by: John Shiban & Chris Black
Directed by: LeVar Burton

Premise
Archer reflects on old times working on the NX test program after learning of the death of his old rival there.

Review
Archer is pleased to discover that we may just have found a huge gathering of dark matter together in one nebula. T'Pol doubts this claim, obviously, because she's a Vulcan and doesn't want Humans to have any fun. But she is unable to dissuade the captain from having Trip modify some spacial charges that would excite the dark matter enough to be visible. All is happy and good! And then Archer learned his friend had died.

Star Trek: Asterisk "Regeneration"

Vital Information
Series: Enterprise
Episode: S02E23
Air Date: May 7, 2003
Written by: Mike Sussman & Phyllis Strong
Directed by: David Livingston

Premise
During First Contact, a team of Borg were shot out of the sky and crashed in the Arctic where they stayed frozen for 100 years. This is their story.

Review
As three human scientists plod through the Arctic scanning around, they come across the ruins of a Borg sphere. Except they have no idea what Borg are. So they find these strange cybernetic zombies and then bring them in for study. Because that's what scientists do: they poke around. They spend the whole first act pretty much just confirming to the audience that these are, in fact, Borg. But they do it in a very effective, horror-story kind of way.

Premise
The Enterprise encounters a race of super-awesome aliens with amazing technological advances and three genders. The third of which is treated like an appliance.

Review
While checking out a supergiant star, Archer regrets not being able to get any closer to study some awesome readings. But then they're surprised by a ship that's actually coming toward them from inside the star! What is this witchcraft, they wonder! The Vissians are a race that are far more advanced than Enterprise, but aren't total douches like the Talosians.

Episode: S02E21
Air Date: April 23, 2003

Premise
Dr. Phlox faces his most deadly threat yet: centuries old racial prejudice.

Review
When Hoshi goes to deliver the mail to Phlox (because even electronic mail is hand delivered on Archer's Enterprise), Phlox introduces the communications officer to a tribble (YAAYY!) which he promptly feeds to a reptilian carnivore (WHAT!? D:). And there would be no more tribbles until The Original Series. Meanwhile, Phlox reads his mail and discovers that the Denobulan Science Academy wants Enterprise, the closest ship available (obviously), to pick up some Denobulan geologists that have been caught on a planet and given three days to evacuate due to a xenophobic regime change.

Episode: S02E20
Air Date: April 16, 2003
Written by: AndrĂ© Bormanis
Directed by: James A. Contner

Premise
Travis visits his family who turns out to be so dull and angst-ridden that much of the episode chooses instead to focus on an unrelated exploding planet and T'Pol's first experience with Frankenstein.

Review
Oops... I just spent the last hour on Tumblr because the Mayweather family is so boring.

Star Trek: Asterisk "Judgement"

Vital Information
Series: Enterprise
Episode: S02E19
Air Date: April 9, 2003
Written by: David A. Goodman
Directed by: James L. Conway

Premise
Archer is accused of aiding rebels of the Klingon Empire and faces a Klingon kangaroo court. Let the hilarious imagery commence!

Review
In the beginning of this episode we warp right into the trial, the details of which will be revealed later. Archer is brought before a Klingon magistrate and the magistrate reveals the charges: conspiracy against the Empire. Archer, of course, claims innocence, but the jeering crowd obviously believes otherwise. Archer is given a day to come up with his defense, but there is little hope it will do much good.

Premise
Non-corporeal beings try to switch minds with the Enterprise crew because they think they can make a better series... Oh, and something about being able to touch things

Review
It starts with Enterprise being swallowed by a huge space whale docking station-sized starship. Now, at first, knowing that this episode is about non-corporeal beings, you start to wonder "what do non-corporeal beings need with a starship?" Right? Well... you will find no answers here.

Star Trek: Asterisk "Canamar"

Vital Information
Series: Enterprise
Episode: S02E17
Air Date: February 26th, 2003
Written by: John Shiban
Directed by: Allan Kroeker

Premise
Archer makes friends with a prisoner in order to lie, cheat and steal his way out of a prison transport.

Review
We open this episode with a rather ominous shot of Shuttlepod One completely empty with T'Pol attempting to contact Archer and Trip who are supposed to be on it. The last time Archer was wrongfully imprisoned, it was with Travis "All the Personality of a Shovel" Mayweather. On the other hand, he also got to reunite with Al in that episode, so it kind of evened out. When they bring the shuttlepod back into the ship and give it an examination they find the some blood left behind from Archer and Trip which leads them to believe that, wherever they went, they did not go quietly.

Star Trek: Asterisk "Future Tense"

Vital Information

Written by: Mike Sussman & Phyllis Strong
Directed by: James Whitmore, Jr.

Premise
The Enterprise finds a TARDIS and while they try to figure it out, everyone else tries to get it back.

Review
Well, here's an interesting predicament. What do you do if you see a disabled ship with no life signs drifting about in space with no weapons fire signatures and no apparent way to propel itself? Normal people would count it as space trash and move along... but not Archer! Our intrepid captain commands that this small vessel be brought into the shuttle bay for further study. And when they finally find a way to open a fused hatch, what to they find? A dead human. Well, that's what you get for digging around in space trash! Time to throw it back, right? NOPE!

Star Trek: Asterisk "Cease Fire"

Vital Information
Series: Enterprise
Episode: S02E15
Air Date: February 12, 2003
Written by: Chris Black
Directed by: David Straiton

Premise
In an effort to give Archer the qualities of both Kirk and Picard, he is shoe-horned in to mediate a territorial dispute between Vulcans and Androians.

Review
This particular Andorian appears to be pretty important to the series, so I'll go ahead and give him a name now. Shran brought a few friends over to a planet that the Andorians had laid claim to in order to renegotiate a treaty with the Vulcans. Turns out the renegotiation involves an exchange of weapons fire. When all hope appears to be lost, Shran decides that negotiation of this magnitude requires him to bring in the big guns. Call on Archer.

Star Trek: Asterisk "Stigma"

Vital Information
Series: Enterprise
Episode: S02E14
Air Date: February 5, 2003
Written by: Rick Berman & Brannon Braga
Directed by: David Livingston

Premise
T'Pol is diagnosed with Vulcan AIDS and one of Phlox's wives attempts to seduce Trip.

Review
Following in the great tradition of heavy-handed space-morality tales, "Stigma" opens with T'Pol finishing up a visit to sickbay wherein Phlox warns her that if he doesn't get more information on the secret disease that she has, she could very well die. Her only hope is if Phlox can covertly research the disease with some fellow Vulcan doctors at an upcoming medical exchange convention. Covertly because Pa'nar syndrome is basically Vulcan AIDS. It's contracted while undergoing the forbidden practice of mind melding. Something that Spock did over and over and over again and never worried about spreading any disease. It's gonna be a long episode...
